Good news, everyone: Mercury in Retrograde is officially over! As of 8:11 a.m. on January 18th, Mercury stationed direct in the sign of Capricorn, bringing a wave of relief to us all after a pretty heavy start to 2023.
However, there is an even more exciting aspect to the end of this retrograde chapter—it marks a months-long period with absolutely zero planets in retrograde.
That’s right, friends—absolutely none!
If this doesn’t sound like a big deal, think again. The farther a planet is from the Sun, the longer it tends to stay in retrograde (planets such as Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto tend to retrograde approx 4-5 months at a time). This also means planets closer to the Sun have shorter retrograde periods (Mercury and Venus tend to last only a few weeks).
Of course, it’s not that this phenomenon never occurs, but at least for 2023, this will be the only period where there isn’t at least one planet in retrograde throughout the rest of the year. It’s pretty exciting to know that from January 19th-April 21st (aka the entirety of Aquarius, Pisces, and Aries seasons), we will be consistently retrograde-free, and it’s a great time to take advantage of the opportunity.
