You May Not Be My First Love, But I Promise You’ll Be My Last

You may not be my first love, but you will be my last of everything. You might not have been the first thought that woke me up in the mornings, but for the rest of my life, you’ll be the last thought that runs through my mind at night.

You might not be the first to experience a love or relationship with me, but you’ll be the last once-in-a-lifetime opportunity I get the pleasure of having.

You might not be the first wedding vow I’ve heard, but your words will be the last wedding vows I cherish.

You might not be the first to buy me flowers on Valentine’s day, but your thoughtful gifts will be the only ones I’ll remember and keep.

You might not be my first sexual partner, but you’ll be the sexual partner I spend the rest of my life with.

You might not be the first to text me good morning and you may not be the first to make me smile, but I can promise that you’ll be my favorite thing to wake up to and spend the rest of my life with.

You will be the last person I hold a mouthful of forevers and I love you’s for. You will be the last person I kiss in the mornings and hug and cuddle with at night. You will be my favorite shopping partner and companion for all adventures and endeavors. You will be the last hand I hold and the last person I walk beside. You will be the last person I put in effort for and care to see happy.

Lastly, I might not be the first to have entered your life or trespassed into your heart, but I will be the last person to take care of your heart. And I wasn’t the first girl to make you happy, but I hope I’ll be the last girl that makes you smile and laugh.
